Funded by NSF’s Opportunities for Enhancing Diversity in the Geosciences program, the TXESS Revolution aims to broaden diversity in the geosciences by providing high quality professional development to minority-serving Texas science teachers, preparing them to teach a new Earth and Space Science capstone course and by sharing access to Earth science educational resources. Our goal is to support Earth science teachers to help them to transform their classrooms into dynamic environments where students engage in discovery through collaborative investigation. 

The purpose of this web site is to support Earth science teachers with a collection of exemplary, research-based learning activities used in the TXESS Revolution PDAS. All the activities posted on the site were implemented in the TXESS Revolution PDAS and evaluated by a team of researchers from The University of Texas at Tyler. Evaluation and testing was confidential.

High school and middle school teachers who are teaching any of a variety of topics related to earth and environmental sciences. Many activities may also be used in World Geography. Faculty teaching undergraduate Earth science courses are also welcome to use any of the learning activities.

There is no cost associated with using TXESS Revolution resources. In fact, we encourage you to use them as much as possible.
